Lily Turcotte-Keen

Mate #226

Hometown: Washington, D.C.

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Major: Psychology and Political Science

Our very own southern belle, Lily Turcotte-Keen, originally comes from Georgia, but now lives in Washington, D.C. As of now, she is planning on double majoring in psychology and political science with the hopes of following in her fathers footsteps and going to law school.

Lily has been singing since she could talk, with her parents claiming that her first word was actually a tune to an arbitrary Bruno Mars song (though she doesn't know how true this actually is). She was (forcefully) enrolled in piano lessons from a young age and, like most kids, she hated it. But she made it through twelve years of lessons, and now has decided piano isn't all that bad. However, as of recently she has applied these skills to the marimba, and has played in an marimba ensemble in D.C. for the past three years. She also attempted to play guitar, but quickly decided she preferred to have her nails long, and quit. After her two dads decided they wanted her to be the next Barbra Streisand (no pressure), they enrolled her in voice lessons in fifth grade, and she has since never stopped. From winning national recognition with her choir in high school, to being in both jazz and pop bands, to being in every musical thrown her way, singing has remained a huge part of Lily’s life. She even paid her love forward, being hired as a vocal coach/teacher at a nearby elementary school and helping them put on, in her opinion, the world's best production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. ever to grace the stage.

Outside of music, Lily enjoys playing pickleball or hanging out with her friends. At home, she works at a ramen bar (which she can never seem to stop hyping up) and is a tour guide at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Lily is also passionate about politics, with her picture recently being published in an edition of Rolling Stones while protesting in front of the Supreme Court, and the presidential debate being her version of the Super Bowl.

Though this is her first year singing in an a cappella group, Lily cannot wait to live out her Pitch Perfect fantasies and learn new skills with a wonderful new group of people!
