Kai Capistrant
Mate #231
Hometown: Hopkins, MN
Pronouns: he/him/his
Major: International Relations, concentration in environment
Kai is from the humble state of Minnesota where his love for music began at a young age, his first performance being a pool side gig for his parents singing “I Kissed a Girl” by Katy Perry at the age of 4. Although he hasn’t grown out of his diapers yet, still being a baby, he has been on many worldly adventures both musically and recreationally.
Though he has played piano since before he can remember, music had never taken center stage in his life due to the involvement of far too many sports as a child (he gives a formal apology to his parents for having to drive him to 6/7 different places each night). It wasn’t until he quit his main sport of gymnastics over Covid that he decided to pursue singing instead of springing. Thus began his conquering of the music world, taking part in four musicals, the audition acapella choir in high school, and the Minnesota All-State Choir.
Finally, he has found himself as part of the ‘Mates! Kai is very excited to continue his music path with the ‘Mates, and assures his parents every day that it isn’t a cult. When not singing, Kai enjoys watching movies, eating different foods, working out, and being with friends! He looks forward to the many years ahead with such an amazing group.
And [Kai] wept, seeing as he had no more worlds to conquer…
