Joelle Pearlstein A’28

Joelle Pearlstein

Mate #227

Hometown: Bryn Mawr, PA

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Major: Cognitive and Brain Science and Engineering Psychology

Solos: Hammer To The Heart

When Joelle was three years old, she told her mother to record her while she belted out many tunes: happy birthday, doe a deer, party in the USA, and Blah Blah Black sheep (wrong lyrics only). Joelle loved singing, but intense sports kept her from pursuing it until she reached high school. She joined her high school’s a capella group in freshman year. The group went to Denmark and sang for the Prince of Denmark! Joelle’s first order of business when she got to Tufts campus was to sing; she’s ecstatic to be a ‘Mate!

Joelle was born and raised in Bryn Mawr, PA, and thus grew up a huge Philly sports fan. When she’s not at volleyball practice, a Phillies game, or down the Jersey shore, she can probably be found walking her adorable Golden Doodle Ruby and aging, crusty white dog Tinkerbell.

On campus, Joelle can be seen rocking her “It’s a Philly thing” sweatshirt, and Alec Bohm Jersey (NO Phillies slander tolerated during Red October). You might also find her picking up a smoothie from Kindlevin - the only fresh fruit she has managed to find on campus. She plans to major in Cognitive and Brain Science or Engineering Psychology. She’s a downhill girly at heart, as trudging up the hill to her 9 am has already grown her calves tremendously.
